Andrea has direct oversight responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the firm. Prior to joining M & A, Andrea enjoyed a twelve-year career in higher education where she served as Director of Planned Giving for Howard University, and formerly as the university’s Legislative Director for Government Affairs.
In her capacity as liaison to the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and the U.S. Congress, Andrea focused her efforts on such compelling issues as charter schools, federal appropriations, healthcare, politics, economic development, and various grass roots and community-based initiatives. She was responsible for developing strategies and tactics as well as rapid response initiatives in advancing the academic and strategic initiatives of the University. Strategic initiatives involving the establishment of public/private partnerships resulted in collaborative efforts with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; U.S. Department of Commerce; the National Institutes of Health; the Smithsonian Institute; the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Habitat for Humanity; and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
Andrea’s background also encompasses public relations and communication initiatives, crisis management, issues advocacy, and litigation support.
